Introduction:	[[file:RYP 232.JPG\|right\|x150px]] Hampshire Gateway is the result of a collaboration between Parent Voice, Schoolgate and Hampshire County Council. It has been designed and developed through consultation with Parents to provide a gateway to recreation and leisure for all disabled children and young people who may require additional support to access opportunities within their communities. Hampshire Gateway has a comprehensive website plus a Hampshire Gateway publication which contains information about activity providers in Hampshire. We also publish Activity Supplements throughout the year prior to the commencement of school holidays which contains information about the specific activities available to you throughout the holidays. [[file:About us.jpg\|left\|200px]] The Hampshire Gateway website is packed full of places to go and things to do. For each activity provider you will find information about the provider; who they are and what they do, you will also find contact details, location and access information which will help you to determine whether their setting is suitable for your child (for example, if there is an accessible toilet or if the environment is noisy). In addition to this, you can browse over 300 activities on the website searchable by area, provider, type (dance, sport etc) and there is also the ability to search for activities within a distance of your postcode. Each activity features accessibility information, a description and details of how to book or get in touch. New activities are added every week so you can keep up with what’s new! Both the Hampshire Gateway Website and the Hampshire Gateway publication together with the holiday supplements will help you to use your gateway card which all children and young people will need to access short break funded activities which will need from April 2012.
